Conducting Study

Dr. Joshua Diehl and the Center for Children and Families at the University of Notre Dame are enrolling children and adolescents to study how children with autism spectrum disorders and typically developing children perform on a range of tasks measuring language comprehension abilities. Research Study Coming to South Bend

The University of Michigan Center for Motor Behavior and Pediatric Disabilities is bringing their research study teaching children and adolescents with ASD to ride a two-wheel bicycle without training wheels. After initial screening, a bicycle camp will be held June 7 - 11, which will measure outcomes of learning on the children's health, sleep patterns, and participation and integration into community activities. The data collected will be used to help change educational and health policy related to ASD. See complete details here.


Juried Art Exhibit Call for Entries

In honor of National Autism Awareness Month, the Riley Riley Hospital for Children Christian Sarkine Autism Treatment Center will sponsor a juried art exhibition, "Through My Eyes - Perspectives of Autism: April 2010." Submission guidelines can be found at http://psychiatry.medicine.iu.edu.


Autism Center Expands Services to SW Michigan

The Sonya Ansari Center for Autism is in the process of developing services for families living in the Berrien Springs area of southwest Michigan. Services mirror those offered at the Ansari Center at LOGAN, including behavior consultation, counseling, recreation activities, social skills classes, and activities directed to teens and families.

Plans are underway to create a resource center and library, as well as to conduct school and community training opportunities. Visit ansaricenterforautism.org/southwestmichigan to learn more.
