Regional Autism Center Staff

Dan Ryan, Director, MA

Dan brings many years of program development and management experience to the Center’s operation. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Special Education from the University of Notre Dame. He has over thirty years of experience working in the disabilities field in Canada and the U.S., and has served on many advisory boards at the state and local levels, including the Autism Society of Indiana and the Indiana Autism Coalition. During the past five years Dan has focused on research into autism treatments and identifying resources and supports available for persons with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Dan has been the lead person in developing and managing the programs offered by the Regional Autism Center at LOGAN. He has been key to bringing nationally recognized autism experts to Indiana to conduct workshops for parents and professionals.

Kristin Wier, Behavior Consultant, MA, LLP, BCBA

Kristin is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and a Master’s Level Psychologist. She has extensive experience in the areas of autism and behavior analysis. Prior to joining the staff at LOGAN, Kristin was the program director for six years at the Early Intervention Center in Birmingham, Michigan. Kristin is an associate faculty member in the Psychology Department at the University of Notre Dame.

Nicole Gebadlo, Behavior Consultant, MA, BCBA

Nicole is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and a Master’s Level Psychologist. She has worked in schools and rehabilitation settings as well as in the community. In addition to her clinical work, Nicole has been involved in research. Nicole formerly worked as a Behavior Specialist at the Julia S. Molloy Education Center in Chicago, IL.

Laura Christensen, Program Specialist, BS, CRTS

Laura is a Certified Recreation Therapy Specialist with a Bachelor of Science in Education. Laura has extensive background in program development and implementation for children and adults with various disabilities. Her primary focus has been on wellness, recreation and quality of life issues. Prior to joining LOGAN, Laura was the program manager at Northeast DuPage Special Recreation Association in the Chicago suburbs.

Leanne Suarez, Resource Specialist/
Parent Liaison

As a parent of a child on the Autism Spectrum, Leanne brings an important perspective to her role of Resource Specialist. Leanne provides support and guidance to other parents seeking answers, resources, services and advice. Leanne is bi-lingual in English and Spanish.

Jane Schmidt, MA, OTR

Jane, a Pediatric Occupational Therapist, has worked with hundreds of children with a wide range of special needs for more than 30 years. Over the past 15 years, Jane has become an expert in providing therapies and parent training to address the developmental needs of children on the Autism Spectrum. Jane has attended many intensive workshops on the DIR/Floortime model offered by Child Psychiatrist, Dr. Stanley Greenspan of Bethesda, Maryland. In 2006, Jane participated in a year-long training experience under the direction of Developmental Pediatrician, Dr. Richard Solomon of Ann Arbor, Michigan leading toward certification as P.L.A.Y. Project therapist using the DIR/Floortime Model. She is the first therapist in Indiana to be certified in this approach. Jane serves as a supervising mentor for other therapists using the DIR/Floortime model and has conducted numerous trainings on this approach in preschool and school settings as well as family homes. jane@logancenter.org
