Play Pals
Suggested Ages: 4-6
Dates: Wednesdays September 2- September 30, 5:00-6:00pm
The ability for interactive play is crucial for a child's development. We are offering an interactive play group that is structured to assist your child with learning about interactive play, learning how to take turns, and improve their social skills with other children his or her age. The sessions will be held at the Building Blocks play room or the playground.

Creative Chefs
Suggested Ages: 13 – 18
Dates: 1st and 3rd Mondays—September 21, October 5, October 19, November 2, November 16, December 7, December 21
Times: 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Creative Chefs’ Class will teach you how to amaze your family and friends with appetizers and entrees that you can make at home! Each week you will learn how to understand recipes, measure the proper ingredients, and entertain while having fun with friends. The group will taste and enjoy everything that is prepared; please only eat a light dinner or snack before class each week. At the end of the program, you will receive a copy of each recipe!

New in the Kitchen
Suggested Ages: 7-12

Do you know how to boil water? Come learn the basic cooking skills such as measuring, kitchen safety, and a lot more! The group will create simple recipes to taste and enjoy while learning about the kitchen; please only eat a light dinner or snack before class each week. At the end of the progrm, you will receive a copy of each recipe!

Gals Get Together

Swim Lessons

The once a week swim lessons will assist your child in learning the life saving skills of swimming. The children will be separated into skill groups as people sign up.

Older Teen Group

We are announcing a new program to the Autism Center!
We are creating a new Older Teen Group that will assist the older teens in having fun with their age peers and polishing their community integration skills. Through these events, the older teens will meet once a month - one time to plan the next activity and have social time with video games and board games, and the next time to attend the group planned event. During the LOGAN Center time, the teens will meet in the downstairs Community Connections room.
Cost: $7 per event and a snack at the game nights, unless otherwise notified. Please pay as you come, but register in advance.

Theatre Troupe

South Bend Civic Theatre is excited to once again offer a Theatre opportunity to LOGAN.
No experience is necessary. This is a great way to improve self-expression, communication, confidence, and an outlet for your creativity! Each week you will learn how to feel comfortable on stage, learn skits, and try various roles. We invite all family and friends to a presentation at the end of the session on November 11. The Exercise Connection Fitness Program
Dates to be announced.
This is a great opportunity to involve the whole family in exercise. The workshop will feature David Geslak, who has founded The Exercise Connection. The exercise model that he utilizes assists any child with a special need in improving their helth level and quality of life. The program utilizes exercise tools that are inexpensive and items that you can usually find around the house to assist your child in improving his or her health level. The beginning part of the session will be filled with an information session to discuss the need for exercise and how this model will assist the individuals in their goals of increased balance, increased coordination, increased listening, and increased ability to follow directions.The later part of the session will be where you will learn how to put the exercises discussed into action. This approach is widely accepted and will be utilized in an exercise program that we will be offering in the Winter schedule. Family Happenings

Date Night
In reponse to the HUGE request for respite, we have come up with a Parents date night. Once a month, you can bring your children (siblings included) to LOGAN Center and head out to have a date. Some parents will grocery shop, some will go out for a movie - you know that your children will be safe and having fun at LOGAN. While you are having fun, we will be doing the same while playing board games, playing Wii, watching a movie, or doing a craft. We require families to RSVP one week ahead of the scheduled time to ensure that we have enough volunteers and staff to watch over your children. We must have paperwork and waivers filled out on all of the children before the event date.

Cost: $5.00/for first child/$4.00 for each additional child, not to exceed over $25.00 per family.

Family Hotdog Roast & S'mores
Come have fun with us at the beautiful "There are Kids Here" camp site and enjoy hotdogs smores, hiking in the woods and some fun games. Bring some lawn chairs and be ready for some great story telling by the fire pit.
